A basic vanilla cupcake recipe that is the perfect base for any flavour addition or type of icing!

Ingredients

200g Unsalted Butter, softened

370g Caster Sugar

2tsp Vanilla Bean Paste

4 Eggs

405g Self Raising Flour

250ml Milk

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 180c. Line your muffin tray with baking cups (this recipe should make around 24 cupcakes).

  2. Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla bean paste with an electric mixer. One at a time, add the eggs and beat until just combined. Alternating in batches, add the flour and milk.

  3. Spoon the mixture evenly among the baking cups. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through. 

  4. Remove from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely before icing with your favourite buttercream.
