Bakels Yeast Raised Donuts

Make your own Krispy Kreme style donuts, with Bakels Yeast Raised Donut Mix. A yeast doughnut is your classic style doughnut that you can glaze with Bakels Donut Glaze to really make your friends think you just came from the Krispy Kreme factory. Or you can fill them with jam, custard, caramel, or whatever you like!

 

Cut them into classic doughnut rings or shape them up into little balls of fried dough perfection. Yeast doughnuts are light and airy, but have a chew and a slight yeast flavour.

 

This doughnut mix works best in a deep fryer containing vegetable oil. The mix can also be baked in the oven. The recipe is supplied with each cake mix.

Ingredients

1kg Bakels Yeast Raised Donut Mix

14g Instant Dry Yeast

470ml water

 
Method
  1. Place all ingredients in stand mixer and mix on low for two minutes.

  2. Mix on high for 10 minutes. Dough should be well developed.

  3. Rest dough for approx. 5 minutes

  4. Form balls of dough to desired size.

  5. Place dough on a lightly floured bench, cover with a clean tea towel, and proof for approx. 30 minutes.

  6. Fry donuts in oil at 180°C until golden on both sides.

Cooking times vary depending on donut size.
