Bakels Dark Mud Cake is perfect with a dark chocolate ganache and is ideal to use this recipe if you're wishing to decorate your cake with fondant as the dark choc mud provides a stable cake for this finish. Delicious & rich dark chocolate mud cake, comes with pettina chocolate paste to make your cake as per the recipe to give you a richer mud cake. Flavour and density can be experimented with this recipe, with dark chocolate being used as a substitute for the pettina paste to an alternative flavour and richness. This mix is also known as Bakels Mississippi Mud Cake Mix.
1kg Chocolate Mud cake mix
3 eggs
270ml water
140ml vegetable oil
15g Pettina Chocolate Paste
1. Combine cake mix, water & eggs and mix on low speed for 1min. Scrape bowl and continue to mix for a further 2 mins on high.
2. Using a bench top mixer, mix ingredients on medium, gradually adding vegetable oil over 2 minutes.
3. Add chocolate paste and continue to mix on medium for a further minute.
4. Bake at 150-160 degrees for approx. 2hrs (Baking time and temperature will vary from oven to oven)
For best results, allow cake to cool in tin.
Be careful not to overcook, cooking for longer at a lower temperature can help with this.
Cooking times will vary for different size baking tins and cupcakes as well as different ovens.
Always grease & paper line tins.
