Join the wonderful fondant fairy, Karin, as she takes your through the basics of fondant work in this exciting online cartoon cake class! Sliced & Iced is a great introduction to learning the basics of fondant; how to colour it, how to roll it, how to avoid it getting all sticky and how to cover a cake with it! You will also learn a range of general skills like how to carve a cake and how to cover it in ganache. 

  

During this workshop you will learn the following skills:

  • Colouring fondant
  • Cover your cake board with fondant
  • Using Sweet Stamp letter sets
  • Torting and carving a cake
  • Using ganache to cover your cake 
  • Covering your cake in fondant
  • Making decorations with gumpaste / fondant 
  • Making decorations with an extruder
  • How to attach your decorations

 

You will also have access to a promo code which will give you 10% off the cost of the recommended products for the class so you can ice away with everything you need. 

 

The online class also includes a downloadable booklet.

 

SKILL LEVEL:

Beginner
This class is designed for the beginner. No previous experience is required to complete this course.

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CLASS:

Our class portal can be accessed via the My Account section on the top left hand corner of the Lollipop Cake Supplies website! In there, you will find our courses tab! Any of the online classes you have purchased will appear under this section. It's that easy! 

 

ESSENTIAL TOOLS:

White fondant, chocolate fondant, black fondant, yellow fondant, green fondant, (these can be coloured yourself if you wish), 600g of ganache, 10" square board, shortening, sugar glue, tylose, 2 x triangle shaped cakes (these can be cut from a slab or sheet cake if you wish), 2m of 6mm black ribbon, a rolling pin, 4" cranked spatula, metal scraper, turntable, blade tool, a fondant smoother, acupuncture pin, small brush, extruder, 1 x skewer (these can be added to your cart from the Online Class portal)

 

NON-ESSENTIAL TOOLS:

 Dusting tool, A3 fondant mat, sweet stamp sets, pick up pads, gel colours (these can be added to your cart from the Online Class portal)

  

THINGS YOU NEED FROM HOME:

Pencil, scissors, knives, baking paper, double sided tape, long carving knife, a fresh chux wipe, ziploc bags
