This class aims to teach the basics of a lambeth cake from as well as filling crumbing and coating along the way! We will dive into the different piping techniques used to create a lambeth cake such as shell boarders, ruffles and piping along the side of the cake and creating a stunning colour palette to compliment the piping and techniques used on your Lady Lambeth, and topping it off with scrumptious Maraschino Cherries.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Stack and fill cake with buttercream and crumb coat
- Preparing, filling, and holding a piping bag (including the prevention of air-bubbles)
- Students will choose their colour scheme and colour pre-made buttercream
- The use of a turntable and other tools to assist the decorating process
- Piping buttercream using a variety of tips to create various designs in the Lambeth style such as, shell borders & ruffles
- And the pièce de résistance, adding beautiful plump maraschino cherries to your cake for a stunning finish
